I've talked elsewhere in the Village about the value and necessity of eating your own dog food or as some people would prefer drinking your own champaign; the truth is for virtually every single piece of software built, perhaps every serious system regardless of how it exists, has both good and bad points. Both dog food and champaign are appropriate symbolism for anything of significance, to pretend otherwise is to simply fool yourself.
For sure it is possible to have wholly bad things, one can make only dog food but it is very rare to see anything that is or has been a success truly be nothing but dog food people aren't that stupid, some find value others' miss (that's why they bought whatever it is we speak of). However it is certainly possible to have something that is more dog food than champaign just as it is possible to have something more like champaign than dog food. But I digress.
The point I want to make is that after a few weeks of really eating our own dog food, with the corporation using the Village as it's primary source of content management and web publishing, I am very happy to report that we have something that is much more like champaign than it is dog food. I have had a wonderfully productive few weeks and as I look back, I've not had one occasion where I wish I had not used the Village or wished the Village had more to offer. It has truly been easy and fun to work with!
Now I suppose that sounds like marketing bullshit considering the source, but I calls 'em as I sees 'em and this is truly a great piece of technology.
As we move now to the sales cycle of GATE
Village, showing others not what GATE Village will be but what it IS, I look forward to using the very tool I intend to sell as a tool pre- and post-sale as a part of the sale itself! I'm truly proud of what we've built here and it will be easy to let other people know that.
