GATE Village uses GATE Village as its Virtual Office space. Like any company or organization, we have internal meetings, staff gatherings, and other date-based events that need to be managed.

We have content creation, edit and review cycles -- a lot of those :-) We create a lot of our own content, we create a lot of our members' content -- in many cases we want content to be edited, reviewed and approved before it is published, all of this is managed automatically using workflows.

We've resumes, applications, contracts, and numerous other legal documents that we need to preserve (archive) as well as find and access.

We have mailing lists, contact lists, telephone lists of staff, contractors, vendors, and (of course) customers.

We have to plan, design, and implement marketing and advertising campaigns.

We have Research and Development intiiatives to further improve the Village.

We need to keep timesheets, project plans, and other pertinent information to allow us to apply for government incentive grants.

In all, we have a great need for both public and private information and like any other company, we do not wish to see our private information become public. But we want to be able to leverage our private content, integrating it with our public content whereever feasible.
