GATE Members are independent people and businesses Confidentiality is important WHO – GATE Corporation & Employees PLAIN LANGUAGE GATE is firmly committed to the privacy of its members and the confidentiality of any information that a GATE Member has provided to GATE about themselves or their company. There is an implicit one-way Non-Disclosure Agreement in place between all authorized users of GATE Village and all GATE Employees, Directors and Officers of the corporation. Except where explicit permission has been granted by a GATE members, or in compliance with a court order, GATE will never release details about any Member to any 3rd party. Member, GATE Members agree to not release GATE Confidential Information to any 3rd parties, such information is typically the internal details of GATE Village and any financial information that GATE may release from time to time. Member Profiles
The information contained within the member profile you register is used by GATE for GATE Village matters. GATE may use this information to externally market GATE Village but will never sell or allow 3rd parties to access the member or vendor profile information (except as may be required to perform GATE Village related duties as contracted by GATE including marketing, promotional, and administrative activiees). Most information in the Member Profiles is 'public' within GATE Village by default, though Members are typically able to restrict details to only their direct network (please note, while this is allowed it goes against the GATE Way to Success! And is not recommended, you should not include things in your user profile you don't want to become public knowledge.
GATE will not sell, distribute, or make accessible any Member profile information that could be used to identify a GATE Member except where a Member has explicitly provided their written permission or via some transactional means as devised and available via GATE Village. GATE does not attempt to prevent members from disclosing information about themselves except as such prevention is connected to Information Security Realms.
Information Collection and Use
GATE is a Web-based community that indirectly connects businesses with experts and other businesses. GATE is the sole owner of the information collected on this web site. We will not sell, share or rent this information to others in ways different from what is disclosed in this statement or as is consistent with mission of GATE Village.
GATE will use aggregated information to promote GATE Village, the GATE Village membership and the Opportunity Knocks auction. Individual Members will not be identifiable without their explicit permission, however quotes, skills, and other qualities of individual Members may be included.
GATE Members agree to allow GATE Employees to contact them regarding GATE Village activity, promotions, research, or other GATE Village related matters. GATE will not engage in sales-related contact – in general, GATE is not looking for new ways to take money from the membership and will not contact the membership to offer for-fee services, but GATE may contact the membership to inform them about new free services offered by GATE Village and to otherwise try to ensure the satisfaction of every GATE Member.
Cookies Cookies are text files that websites use to capture and or track information about the members using their sites. GATE uses cookies to recognize authorized users on our website. GATE members must have cookies enabled on their browser(s). Cookie preferences are set within each browser's Internet options/preferences. will not provide any personally identifying information on individual members to any third party except in connection with possible opportunities or with the Expert's consent. Any cookies set and used by GATE Village will not contain any publicly identifiable information. GATE will not allow advertisers, banner ads or other intrusive, non-GATE Village related technology to be used within GATE Village when viewed by a GATE Village member. Logging and Auditing GATE Village is in the business of marketing the membership, the Village and the Opportunity Knocks auction and to do so requires a detailed understanding of the demographic and skill-base makeup of the Members. GATE Village monitors all traffic at all times and audits, retains and uses this information in pursuit of GATE s mission. GATE Village intends to be able to identify all activity of all logged in users at all times and GATE will use that information in GATE Trust Investigations and other duties. Sharing
Should GATE share aggregated demographic information with 3rd parties, such information will not be linked to personal information that identifies individual members, except in the case of fraud.

GATE contains links to other websites and is not responsible for the privacy practises of such websites. GATE encourages its members to read the privacy policies of all websites. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by GATE .
Security
GATE takes every precaution to protect registered member information. When Experts and Customers submit sensitive information via the website, their information is protected both online and off-line.
While GATE uses encryption with the latest technology (TLS v1 or SSL v3) to protect sensitive information online, we also protect member information off-line. All member information is restricted within our offices. Servers used to store personally identifiable information are housed in a secure, supervised environment. In addition, only GATE employees or 3rd parties as commissioned by GATE who need specific information to perform a task are granted access to personally identifiable information outside of the GATE Village Public Information. Furthermore, all employees are current with our security and privacy practises. Any time new policies are added, GATE Employees and GATE Members are notified and reminded about the importance of privacy, and what they can do to ensure the protection of sensitive member information.
Mandatory Communications
GATE sends all new members a welcome email which will verify their email addresses. In addition, we communicate with members via personal emails or phone calls to provide requested services and proactively communicate with the membership to better understand their needs and desires.
Optional Communications
GATE Village will offer a number of opt-in communication channels including but not limited to newsletters, blogs, notifications, podcasts, webinars, mailing lists and other such technologies as may seem prudent. GATE Village Members may choose to receive such communications and may at any time request to be removed from any particular communication channel. GATE will fulfil the request within 30 days (generality sooner but we need the wiggle room).
Correction/Updating Personal Information
With minor exceptions, Members in Good Standing may correct and update their personal data listed GATE on at any time. The two exceptions are: sends service announcements to Members. Members cannot unsubscribe from service announcements that discuss upcoming changes that affect their Members may not change their assigned user name (but may choose any available nickname they like) There must be a valid and verified email address at all times, thus to change a primary email address Members must first have a verified secondary address. If we alter our Privacy Policy, we will post all changes in the Customer and Expert Announcement areas. If we decide to use personally identifiable information in a manner different than what was stated at the time of user registration, we will notify members via email.
