GATE
Village V1 (https://www.gatevillage.net) Although long-time readers of the GATE
Post will know that we have already officially launched the site, we have been continuing to expand the functionality of the Village. If you haven't been on in a while, or indeed if as is more likely you haven't yet logged on, you should really check it out now because it has drastically changed. Thanks to all our collective work these past few weeks, GATE
Village has significantly evolved to a state that we have an official V1 of GATE
Village.
We have also made very significant changes to our corporate presence on the Internet, http:/www.gatevillage.com has been completely re-written almost from the ground up making it V3 of the site already. There is an entire new look and a lot more detail. V2 of that website was okay for what it was, a temporary placeholder – something that was better than V1 which was near garbage only slightly better than the real placeholder put there by our hosting provider. It takes time to create these, there is more to it than just running some software (though there is certainly some of that), the real time and energy is in crafting the messages.
That was one of the main reasons for the Open House in fact, we had to get print material and videos ready for that day and we knew we could reuse and expand on that content. So those of you who are familiar with our Open House brochures will find some familiar images and words there.
But those changes are minuscule compared the the Village itself! While beauty is definitely in the eye of the beholder, few people would look at GATE
Village as a thing of beauty, but from an information management perspective, it really is gorgeous (or so Dave tells me over and over :-)). GATE
Village has been built on a foundation of strong content typing (and boy do I mean tons of typing☺) that allows us to provide layers of value from the same content. This hard to see picture on the next page does a good job of showing what we mean, but it is only a glimpse.
The four views in the picture are of the very same content viewed from four different roles:
1.Anonymous User
2.Authenticated User
3.Trusted Expert,
& 4.Trusted Entrepreneur
That is but one page and it is only visual … what I hope it shows is the layers of value and the real place for Trusted Experts to do Trusted Commerce. I urge you to check this out for yourself – if you are interested in what Experts can do when they want, here is an example of Information Management Experts at Work! June will be a month that will see few visible changes within the Village, but Dave & Matthew promise much valuable content for the Trusted Expert and Entrepreneur.
