There are a number of WYSIWYG editors available for use, GATE Village uses FCKeditor and TinyMCE editor, though we have also tried Whizzywig, markItUp, and openWYSIWYG -- all of which had noticeable problems with  one ore more common browsers. 

Right now FCKeditor is used for "Filtered HTML", the default input-format for most GATE Village members, and TinyMCE is used for Full HTML, the mostly restricted input-format (restricted because HTML can be dangerous in the wrong hands). 

Many members will be offered a choice of various input formats and all members can petition for a new or access to an existing input-format.
