GATE Village provides certain Village members access to special content types like SHOUTout and Glossary Item that can be used to automatically put internal GATEGATE Village web links into your content using simple pattern matching techniques.
Workflows
Workflows allow content to be processed rather than just created. A simple approval workflow provides the ability to ensure that an editor (or an editorial board) has a chance to review content before it is published.

GATE Village has a wide variety of functionality, a plethora of content types, and a vast and growing database of content. No single account or person (outside of the necessary Administrator account) has access to everything, not even GATE employees. Access to all functions, features, content and content types is controlled through tte use of roles -- this is often referred to as Role Based Access.
GATE Village roles are usually hierarchical in nature, thus any member may have many different roles.
