WE ARE SURE there are some people who want pop-up ads, banner ads and other (relevant) information displayed automatically (push technology), but most people would prefer to have their desktop filled up with content of their choosing (pull technology). Most people known as a computer Expert prefer pull-technology.

While there is a free account option, most GATE Village members pay fees and nobody should pay a fee so that others can place advertisements in front of you (don't you just hate that at the movie theater?). While GATE Village provides many promotional techniques to its members including Expert-Tease, Automatic links, and front-page promotion, with some Villgae Roles enjoying greater functionaltiy than others, fee-paying GATE Village Members will always be free from advertisements they have not explicitly asked for.

This may not be true for non-paying members and guests of the Village, however. While GATE Village strives for an ad-free zone, the economics of free accounts usually demand ad revenue to cover costs.
